Berkeley Heights, NJ – Summit Medical Group announces that Avrim R. Eden, MD, MBA, has been appointed Medical Director of Quality. Dr. Eden's expertise will help the Group achieve its mission to provide the highest quality of care and service. He will work closely with the Quality Department manager and team to implement quality programs with measurable outcomes.
Dr. Eden is a globally recognized researcher in the treatment of ear-related diseases and the development of new treatments for hearing, balance, ringing in the ear, and facial nerve disorders.
A former Clinical Professor in the Division of Otolaryngology at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in Newark, his professional experience includes the clinical practice of otology at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City, where he was the Eugen Grabscheid Professor of Research in Otolaryngology. He has been Principal Investigator or Coinvestigator for many National Institutes of Health research projects on disorders of the middle and inner ear. Dr. Eden is the author or coauthor of articles and abstracts concerning these and related topics, which are published in prestigious , peer-reviewed, scientific journals. He has delivered local, regional, national, and international invited presentations in his field.
Dr. Eden earned his MD at the University of Cape Town Medical School, South Africa. He completed his residency at the University of Toronto Medical School inToronto, Ontario, Canada. He completed his fellowship at the University of Zurich in Switzerland. In addition to his position as Medical Director of Quality, Dr. Eden is an otolaryngologist practicing with Summit Medical Group. He is board certified in otolaryngology. A fellow of the American College of Surgeons, he is listed in Castle Connolly's Top Doctors in the New York Metro Area.
