Berkeley Heights, NJ -- Over the recent holiday season, Summit Medical Group held a Food Drive to benefit the Community Food Bank of Hillside, New Jersey. The annual drive, organized by the Group's Information Services Department, collected more than 1,275 pounds of food for the 2009 event. Summit Medical Group employees also volunteered to help out at the Food Bank's warehouse in Hillside. Warehouse volunteers assisted with a variety of tasks, including sorting and repacking food for distribution, stocking shelves, assisting in the thrift shop, assembling fundraising mailings, and sorting and packaging new clothes for children in the Kids’ Division. SMG employees donated more than 100 hours of volunteer work in the past year.
