Maureen Bennett, Manager of Media Relations and Marketing


An accomplished, award-winning communicator, Maureen A. Bennett has expertise in public relations, media relations, marketing, communication, writing, and editing. Ms. Bennett has advanced the growth of media relations at Summit Medical Group, securing high-profile opportunities for the chief suite executives and physician experts in major print, broadcast, and web New Jersey / New York media outlets. She is Editor-in-Chief of Summit Medical Group's consumer health newsletters, including Thrive, a monthly electronic patient health brief and Healthy Connections, a flagship consumer health publication. She is also the Executive Producer of all corporate and patient-related video content.

Before joining Summit Medical Group, Ms. Bennett was a publicist, event coordinator, and publications editor for Marymount College in Tarrytown, New York. She also has been a public relations coordinator for the performing arts at Rowan University in Glassboro, New Jersey, and an independent public relations consultant specializing in higher education. She has been an adjunct faculty member in communication and public speaking at Rowan University and Kean University in Union, New Jersey.

Ms. Bennett has volunteered her communication skills to the Arthritis Foundation of New Jersey – Marketing Talent Pool, earning a 2010 Odd Fellows “Spirit” Award. For 3 consecutive years, she has been an invited judge to the Public Relations Society of America – New Jersey Chapter Annual Pyramid Awards. She is a member of the Valentine House Board of Directors, for which she directs all marketing and public relations activities. She also serves on the marketing and public relations committee for the Summit Medical Group Foundation.

Ms. Bennett earned her BA in English literature at Marymount College of Fordham University and her MA in public relations at Rowan University. She holds a Certificate in Organizational Dynamics from William Paterson University and she is currently enrolled in the New York University School of Continuing and Professional Studies Certificate in Management Practices Program.
