Maureen Bennett, Marketing and Media Relations Specialist

 

Maureen Bennett's career expertise includes public relations, traditional and social media relations, research and planning, public speaking and media training, video production, and external communication. She is Executive Producer of our award-winning Web original health video series, "Medical Monday," and Editor-in-Chief of Summit Medical Group's 3 newsletters, including Thrive, our monthly electronic patient health brief, The Group Observer, our internal newsletter, and Healthy Connections, our flagship consumer health publication. Ms. Bennett has earned national, regional and local print, broadcast and Web news placements. She develops original editorials, scripts, concept stories, news releases, news features, white papers and thought leadership, annual reports and corporate social responsibility reports. Her work has earned AVA Platinum and Gold Awards, Hermes Creative Platinum and Gold Awards, MarCom Platinum and Gold Awards and additional recognition by Aurora, Telly, SIAA, and other national health care marketing and media organizations.

 

Ms. Bennett has more than 20 years' experience in public relations and external communication. Before joining Summit Medical Group, she was a publicist, event coordinator, and publications editor for Marymount College in Tarrytown, New York. She also has been a public relations coordinator for the performing arts at Rowan University in Glassboro, New Jersey, and an independent public relations consultant specializing in higher education. She has been an adjunct faculty member in communication and public speaking at Rowan University, Glassboro, and Kean University in Union, New Jersey. She is a member of the Public Relations Society of America, New Jersey Chapter.

Ms. Bennett is a recent appointee to the Board of Directors for the Academy of Cognitive Therapy, directing the Academy's marketing and media relations efforts. She is the winner of the 2010 Odd Fellows Spirit Award, as a result of her service to the Arthritis Foundation of New Jersey’s Marketing Talent Pool. She has volunteered for Valentine House, an organization dedicated to restoring an addict’s life and assisting them with successful re-entry into society and reunification with family and loved ones.

Ms. Bennett earned her BA in English literature with a concentration in creative writing at Marymount College. She has been a resident at Vermont Studio Center, Johnson, Vermont in the writing program. She earned her MA in public relations at Rowan University.
