Berkeley Heights, NJ---Seven Summit Medical Group (SMG) cardiologists have recently been listed in the Consumer Research Council of America “America’s Top Cardiologists." They are:
Andrew Beamer, MD, FACC
Dr. Beamer earned his BS at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina, and he earned his MD at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore, Maryland. He completed his residency in internal medicine at The Johns Hopkins Hospital. His fellowship in cardiology was completed at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts, under the auspices of Harvard Medical School. He completed his fellowship in internal medicine at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Dr. Beamer is board certified in echocardiography, nuclear cardiology, cardiovascular diseases, and internal medicine.
Andrew Greene, MD, FACC
Dr. Greene earned his BA at the University of Pennsylvania and he earned his MD at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, both in Philadelphia. He completed his residency in internal medicine at Temple University Hospital, and his fellowship in cardiology was completed at Hahnemann University Hospital, also in Philadelphia. Dr.Green is board certified in cardiovascular diseases and internal medicine.
Avinash Kothavale, MD
Dr. Kothavale earned his BS at Stanford University in Stanford, California, and he earned his MD at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio. He completed his residency at the University of California in San Francisco. Dr. Kothavale completed his fellowship in cardiovascular diseases at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and Harvard Medical School in Boston, Massachusetts. He also completed level-3 echocardiography training at the University of California in San Francisco. Dr. Kothavale is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular diseases, nuclear cardiology, and echocardiography.
R. Gregory Sachs, MD, FACC
Dr. Sachs earned his AB at Georgetown University and he earned his MD at Georgetown University School of Medicine, both in Washington, DC. He completed his residency in internal medicine at Georgetown University Hospital. His fellowships in cardiology were completed at the Institute of Cardiology in London, England, and Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia. Dr. Sachs is board certified in internal medicine and cardiovascular diseases.
Daniel Schwartz, MD, FACC
Dr. Schwartz earned his BA at Hamilton College in Clinton, New York, and he earned his MD at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri. He completed his residency in internal medicine at The New York Hospital Cornell University Medical Center in New York City. His fellowships in cardiology and interventional cardiology were completed at New York Medical College and Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, New York. Dr. Schwartz is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular computed tomography, interventional cardiology, and cardiovascular disease.
Robert Slama, MD, FACC
Dr. Slama earned his BS at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York, and he earned his MD at Temple University School of Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He completed residencies in internal medicine at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, DC, and Boston City Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts. He also completed a fellowship in cardiology at Boston University Medical Center. Dr. Slama is board certified in internal medicine, nuclear cardiology, echocardiography, and cardiovascular diseases.
William A. Tansey, III, MD, FACC
Dr. Tansey earned his BS at Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut, and he earned his MD at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York City. He completed his residency in internal medicine at St. Luke's Hospital Center, also in New York City. Dr. Tansey completed his fellowship in cardiology at St. Luke's Hospital Center. His fellowships were completed with the American College of Cardiology, American College of Physicians, and American Heart Association. Dr. Tansey is board certified in cardiovascular diseases and internal medicine.
The Consumer Research Council of America lists physicians in "America's Top Cardiologists" based on their years in practice, participation in training and continuing education opportunities, memberships in professional associations, and board certification.
