Summit Medical Group Pediatrics invites children and parents to turn in their excess Halloween candy in exchange for a Healthy Lunch Coupon and small gift. The Healthy Lunch Coupon can be redeemed at the Group’s Café. The coupon and small gift offer is designed to emphasize to parents and their children the importance of good nutrition even during the holidays.
Michelle Bender, MD, Chair of Pediatrics at the Group believes that limiting candy and other unhealthy foods is key to having a happier, healthier child. “More children than ever before are being diagnosed with diseases, including type 2 diabetes and heart disease, that are associated with being overweight and obese. We’re encouraging kids and parents to bring in their excess candy in exchange for something healthy and fun!”
All Summit Medical Group Pediatricians are devoted to teaching their patients about healthy lifestyle habits and preventive measures that can help ensure good health. They are sponsoring the Candy Exchange to help their patients live well and stay well.
