Summit Medical Group Announces Leadership Changes

Summit Medical Group announces that Board Chair, Jeffrey Le Benger, MD, is assuming responsibility for its daily operations. In his expanded role, Dr. Le Benger will partner with colleagues on the Board of Directors to continue implementing the Group's strategic direction as well as its delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care.

Former President and Chief Executive Officer Simon Samaha, MD, has resigned and will transition his responsibilities through April 1, 2012. He will continue to be an advisor to the Group's Board of Directors. "We appreciate the many contribution Dr. Samaha has made over the last few years," says Vice Board Chair Adam Barrison, MD. "We're pleased he'll remain connected with the Group."

Dr. Le Benger joined the Group's medical staff in 1989, and later became a member of its Group's Board of Directors. He has served 5 terms as Board Chair. Dr. Le Benger has helped lead the Group though historic growth and success, including the Group's move to the 40-acre 1 Diamond Hill Road campus 5 years ago. Last year alone, the Group added 35 new physicians to its outstanding medical staff the largest number of physicians to be added at one time in the Group's history.

Dr. Barrison says, "Summit Medical Group is fortunate to have Dr. Le Benger. His experience and leadership have already brought us great success! We look forward to working with Dr. Le Benger in the Group's future endeavors."

Dr. Le Benger is an ear, nose, and throat (ENT) specialist. He is board certified in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery as well as otolaryngology, head, and neck surgery. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgery, American Rhinologic Society, and American Society of Head and Neck Surgery. 

Dr. Le Benger is a recipient of the MDx Medical Patient's Choice Award and 2008 American Registry Patients' Choice Award. He has been a finalist for the NJBIZ 2008 Executive of the Year Award. He is listed in New Jersey Family "New Jersey's Favorite Kids' Docs" and New Jersey Monthly "Top Doctors."
