Kathy is an advance practice nurse, certified in primary care pediatrics and an internationally board certified lactation consultant. She has over 20 years of experience in the field of maternal/child and pediatric health care. After receiving her undergraduate degree in nursing from Rutgers University, Kathy completed her graduate studies at Seton Hall University and the University of Pennsylvania.
In addition, Kathy is certified as an infant massage therapist and a neonatal developmentalist. Her professional experience includes precepting graduate nursing students and as a speaker for AWHONN, a national organization that represents Obstetrical and Neonatal nurses. Along with lactation consulting, Kathy is a valuable member of our pediatric team, delivering day-to-day care to patients.
Our Lactation Consultant, who is also an Advance Practice Pediatric Nurse provides the following:
- Breastfeeding information
- One-on-one consultations in our offices
- Physical examinations
- Growth and development assessment
- Assessment and intervention when there is an allergy concern
- Assisting the mom with a multiple birth
- Telephone advice
- Follow-up contact and evaluation
