Before joining Summit Medical Group in 2008, Amina A. Ahmed, MD, was an internist with privileges at  Christ Hospital, Jersey City Medical Center,  Hamilton Park Rehabilitation Center, the Cusack Care Center, and Newport Nursing Home, all located in Jersey City, New Jersey. In addition to her duties as a hospitalist, Dr. Ahmed's professional interests include cardiovascular medicine. She notes, "I particularly enjoy developing close relationships with and helping acutely ill patients and their families. I believe patience and compassion are essential for the recovery of my patients." 

Dr. Ahmed is a member of the American Medical Association and American Pakistani Physicians Association of North America.

When she is not working with her patients, she is the devoted mother of 2 young children.
