A gastroenterologist with Summit Medical Group since 2001, Adam Barrison, MD, has expertise in celiac disease, inflammatory bowel disease, and colon cancer prevention. In addition to his duties as a physician, Dr. Barrison oversees the Summit Medical Group Governance Committe and Retirement Committee. He has been a member of the Summit Medical Group Board of Directors since 2007.

At the leading edge of innovations in his field, Dr. Barrison regularly attends gastroenterology symposiums and conferences. He is the author or coauthor of articles and abstracts concerning a range of topics in gastroenterology. His articles and abstracts have been published in prestigious, peer-reviewed scientific journals such as American Journal of Medicine, Gastroenterology, and Evidence-Based Gastroenterology. He also has delivered local invited presentations in his field. 

Dr. Barrison is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology, American Gastroenterologic Association, American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, American Medical Association, New Jersey Medical Society, and Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. He is listed in New Jersey Monthly's "Top Doctors."

A devoted father of two young children, Dr. Barrison spends time with his family when he is not working with his patients. His personal interests include travel and finance.
