As Medical Director of Summit Medical Group Quality Health Care Services, Avrim R. Eden, MD, MBA, leads a team dedicated to maintaining the Group as a center for clinical excellence, patient safety, and patient satisfaction. Dr. Eden ensures that the Group's practitioners apply the most up-to-date medical knowledge and technologies and improve patient care and health using evidence-based medicine. To achieve these goals,  he helps develop, implement, and monitor standards of care, quality improvement indicators, and patient care protocols through evidenced-based programs and processes. One of Dr. Eden’s areas of interest is strategies to prevent complications that can result in avoidable emergency department visits and hospital admissions.  

A former Clinical Professor at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey-New Jersey Medical School, Dr. Eden has been a senior professor, teacher, and surgeon at The Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City. While at The Mount Sinai Medical Center, he held the prestigious endowed Chair as the Eugen Grabscheid Professor of Research in Otolaryngology. He has been Principal Investigator for National Institutes of Health research projects on disorders of the middle and inner ears. Dr. Eden is the author or coauthor of articles and abstracts concerning these and related topics, which are published in prestigious, peer-reviewed, scientific journals. He has delivered local, regional, national, and international invited presentations in his field.

A fellow of the American College of Surgeons, Dr. Eden has been listed in Castle Connolly's "Top Doctors in the New York Metro Area" for 10 consecutive years. He also is listed in Castle Connolly's "America's Top Doctors."
