Dr. Thrower has been practicing Orthopaedic Surgery in Westfield, New Jersey since 1982. He received his training in Orthopaedic Surgery in Philadelphia at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.

As a team physician for several local high schools, Dr. Thrower has been actively involved in treating athletes in the community. The office is always open for the injured athlete and emergency appointments are usually available the day of the injury.

Treating the injured worker has also been an integral part of Dr. Thrower’s practice for over 20 years. Communication with the employer and insurance company is sent on the day of the visit providing information in the worker’s duty status and treatment plan. He is always available to speak directly to any employer or case manager to facilitate prompt and efficient patient care.

Dr. Thrower’s special interest has been in treating patients with shoulder and knee disorders. Many patients can be treated without surgery. Physical therapy plays a large part in many patients care with excellent results. If surgery is needed, Dr. Thrower performs arthroscopic surgery in both the shoulder and knee.

Dr. Thrower also has extensive experience in performing independent medical exams and permanency evaluations for worker’s compensation. As a practicing orthopaedic surgeon for 25 years, Dr. Thrower has treated a wide variety of orthopaedic conditions both in and out of the workplace. He is available to speak directly to the person requesting the report.

After 25 years of orthopaedic practice, Dr. Thrower continues to emphasize helping patients completely understand their conditions and providing excellence in patient care.
