Cheryl Gauff, MSN, RN, GNP, CS, has more than 25 years' experience treating adult and geriatric patients in acute, long-term, home, and office care. Before joining Summit Medical Group, Ms. Gauff was a primary care gerontological nurse practitioner with Cedar Crest Village in Pompton Plains, New Jersey. She also has worked with Columbus Hospital in Newark, the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey Comprehensive Services on Aging in Piscataway, Saint Barnabas Geriatric Assessment Program in Livingston, New Jersey, and Overlook Hospital in Summit, New Jersey.
A former clinical professor and adjunct clinical professor at Seton Hall University and Rutgers University, respectively, Ms. Gauff delivers lectures and conducts workshops on a range of topics in eldercare for undergraduate and graduate programs, community organizations, and senior citizens groups.
Ms. Gauff has been Chair of the New Jersey State Nurses Association Gerontological Division. She is the recipient of the Saint Barnabas Medical Center Excellence in Caring Award and New Jersey State Nurses Association Gerontological Nurse of the Year Award.
Ms. Gauff enjoys working with and learning from seniors and their families. She notes, " My goal is to make my patients' journeys through life easier, whether by helping them with the challenges of dementia, improving functionality, or easing them through a transition, including hospice and end-of-life issues."
Ms. Gauff lives in Morris Plains with her teenage son, for whom she enjoys being a soccer mom. When she is not working with her patients, she enjoys spending time with and entertaining family and friends. She also enjoys yoga, hiking, and reading in her spare time.
