In addition to his position at Summit Medical Group, Epifanio Calcara, MD, is Attending Physician in internal medicine at Overlook Medical Center in Summit, and a staff physician for Kean University in Union, both in New Jersey. Dr. Calcara's expertise includes primary and preventive care.
Before joining Summit Medical Group, Dr. Calcara practiced internal medicine privately in Westfield and Garwood, New Jersey. For more than 13 years, he was President of Paramount Medical Group. To his credit, Dr. Calcara was integral in helping Paramount become a Level-3 Patient-centered Medical Home. He has been a staff physician for Public Service Electric and Gas (PSE & G), Associate Medical Director for Sandoz Pharmaceuticals Corporation, and a consultant for Hoechst-Celanese Corporation and Exxon Research and Engineering.
Dr. Calcara is a recipient of the National Committee for Quality Assurance Certificate for his contributions to diabetes care. He is a member of the New Jersey Collborative for Patient-centered Care Board of Directors.
