In addition to her position with Summit Medical Group, Jamie L. Reedy, MD, MPH, is Medical Director of the Westfield Regional Health Department in Westfield, New Jersey. She is Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ)-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Brunswick. She also precepts students in her clinical practice from UMDNJ. Dr. Reedy is a member of the Overlook Hospital Medical Staff and the American Academy of Family Physicians. She was Founder and Co-coordinator of the Homeless and Indigent Population Health Outreach Project that organizes health professional students to provide medical and preventive care as well as health education to underserved people.
Before joining Summit Medical Group, Dr. Reedy was Medical Director, Compliance Officer, and a practicing physician with Paramount Medical Group/Westfield Family Practice in Westfield, New Jersey. To her credit, Dr. Reedy led Paramount’s initiative to become a Level-3 National Committee for Quality Assurance-recognized Patient-centered Medical Home. She has been Assistant Professor in the Department of Family Medicine at UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, advisor to the New Jersey State Senate Health Committee Chair, Director of the UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Department of Family Medicine Health Policy Fellowship Program, Program Director for the American Board of Family Medicine Pisacano Leadership Foundation, and Chairperson for the New Jersey Academy of Family Physicians Government Affairs Committee.
A sought-after speaker, Dr. Reedy has delivered more than 20 invited presentations in her field. She has been the focus of radio and television interviews on antibacterial products, psychotherapy in primary care, and managed care, among others.
Dr. Reedy is an American Board of Family Medicine Pisacano Leadership Foundation Scholar and a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. She is a recipient of the American Medical Association Physician's Recognition Award, American Academy of Family Physicians Mead Johnson Award, and New Jersey Academy of Family Physicians President’s Award.
Dr. Reedy became interested in family medicine because she believes "It requires great breadth and depth of knowledge." She adds, "I believe that cultivating long-term relationships with my patients enables me to positively influence them with behavioral and lifestyle changes that can help improve, maintain, and protect their health." Dr. Reedy notes that she enjoys "meeting patients' needs for comprehensive, coordinated, personalized care through a team-based approach."
When she is not working with her patients, Dr. Reedy enjoys exercising and spending time with her family.
