In addition to his position at Summit Medical Group, John F. Tabachnick, MD, is Attending Physician in the Department of Family Medicine at Overlook Medical Center in Summit, New Jersey. He is Clinical Assistant Professor of Family Medicine at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey-New Jersey Medical School in New Brunswick, and he is a preceptor for the Overlook Medical Center Family Practice Residency Program.

Before joining Summit Medical Group, Dr. Tabachnick was President of and practiced with Paramount Medical Group/Westfield Family Practice in Westfield, New Jersey. He has been Chief and Vice Chief in the Department of Family Medicine at Overlook Medical Center. He is Former President, Vice President, and Treasurer of the Overlook Medical Center Medical Staff. He has been a member of the Atlantic Health Board of Trustees.

Dr. Tabachnick is Chairman and Trustee for the New Jersey Academy of Family Physicians Foundation. He is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, Union County Medical Society, American Red Cross-Raritan Valley Chapter, and New Jersey Medical Society. Dr. Tabachnick has been Chairman of the New Jersey Academy of Family Physicians Education Committee and Chairman of the American Red Cross Westfield/Mountainside Chapter. He is a recipient of the New Jersey Academy of Family Physicians Physician of the Year Award and MDx Medical, Inc. Patients' Choice America's Most Compassionate Doctor Award for his outstanding care and services, including his bedside manner, approach to patient visits, follow-up care, availability for appointments, and the courtesy of his office staff. He is listed in Castle Connolly's "America's Top Doctors."
