Kimberly Buff Prado, DNP, APN, C, is an adult nurse practitioner in cardiology at Summit Medical Group. Experienced in a wide range of cardiac issues, Dr. Prado evaluates and treats patients with dyslipidemia and performs stress tests. She is in charge of the Summit Medical Group Lipid Clinic. Dr. Prado is a faculty member at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey Masters in Nursing and Accelerated Bachelor in Science Programs. She is a reviewer for American Journal for Nurse Practitioners.  

Before joining Summit Medical Group, Dr. Prado was an adult nurse practitioner for MidAtlantic Cardiology in Morristown, New Jersey. As one of the first nurse practitioners affiliated with Morristown Memorial Medical Center, she helped implement policies and procedures for nurse practitioners and physician assistants. Her clinical experience includes having been a travel nurse critical care at Scripps Clinic Hospital in La Jolla, California, Staub Hospital in Honolulu, Hawaii, Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC.  

A gifted speaker, Dr. Prado delivers local and national presentations on topics in dyslipidemia. She also gives lectures about strategies for educating clinicians. Dr. Prado will soon publish results from her study about the relationship between lipids and coronary artery calcification.

She is a recipient of the Summit Medical Group Star Award for excellent customer service.  

When she is not working with her patients, Dr. Prado enjoys distance running. She has participated in the New York marathon.
