Lloyd H. Alterman, MD, FACP, is an American Society of Hypertension-certified hypertension specialist. Dr. Alterman notes, "My father succumbed to kidney failure in the prime of his life, before modern advances could help him. The experience inspired me to pursue a career in internal medicine and kidney disease. In addition to my commitment to medicine, I enjoy classical music and have played the piano since childhood. I also enjoy duplicate bridge, and I am an amateur numismatist."
