In addition to his position with Summit Medical Group, Ronald P. Benitez, MD, is a neurosurgeon with Atlantic NeuroSurgical Specialists in Morristown, New Jersey. He also is a member of the Overlook Hospital Advisory Board.

Before joining Summit Medical Group, Dr. Benitez was Assistant Professor of Neurosurgery at Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. His professional expertise includes tumor surgery and surgical and endovascular management of cerebrovascular disease, including skull-based surgery and acoustic neuromoas. He is a member of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, Congress of Neurological Surgeons, American Society of Interventional and Therapeutic Neuroradiology, American Association of Neurological Surgeons/CNS Section on Cerebrovascular Surgery, Medical Society of New Jersey, and Pennsylvania Neurological Society.

Dr. Benitez is the author or coauthor of articles, abstracts, and book chapters concerning cerebrovascular disease, some of which are published in prestigious, peer-reviewed scientific journals such as Neurosurgery and Seminars in Neurosurgery. A sought-after speaker, he has delivered local, regional, and national invited presentations in his field.

Dr. Benitez is the recipient of the Stacy L. Rollins, Jr, Neurosurgery Award and the Overlook Hospital Physician Excellence Award in Critical Care.
