Personal Notes

Why I became a doctor:

I can remember being committed to becoming a physician since I was very young, maybe as early as 6th grade. To me the "art of healing" was the most fascinating profession, not to mention that I loved the sciences. To this day, I have an insatiable curiosity about the medical sciences and also find it a privilege to help someone resolve or manage an illness. Soon after entering practice, I developed a passion for improving care on a more global level. I find my current position as the medical director for the Summit Medical Group a great opportunity to meld all my interests.

My philosophy of care:

Wellness is a partnership between the caregiver and the patient. The medical practice or individual physician should provide the patient with  information on what clinical practices are specific to an individual, and provide evidence of promoting wellness. The patient needs to utilize the information to make decisions and be proactive about making these recommendations a part of their life. Wellness, like any other aspect of the patient-provider relationship, is a partnership.

About me:

I live in Short Hills, NJ with my wife and three children. As a family we enjoy skiing and frequenting the Berkshires in Massachusetts, where both in-laws have vacation homes. I am an avid cyclist, and my wife and I look forward to at least one remote backpacking trip a year.
