Suzanne Shugg, BSN, MSN, RN, ACNP, DNP, is a National Lipid Association-accredited clinical specialist who treats patients predisposed to cardiovascular disease, including those with a family history of early heart attacks and strokes.

Dr. Shugg empowers her cardiology patients at Summit Medical Group to take control of their health. She strongly believes patient education is key to treatment success. For this reason, she teaches her patients about all aspects of heart health. In particular, she performs stress tests, provides patients with information about medications such as coumadin, and consults with patients about their pacemakers. 

To her credit, Dr. Shugg has volunteered her expertise to treat more than 700 patients in El Salvador. In addition to providing general medical treatment, she has helped educate patients and she has encouraged them to continue their treatment to improve and maintain their health.

Dr. Shugg is a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.

When she is not working with her patients, she enjoys running, cycling, and scuba diving.
