The National Alliance on Mentally Illness
The National Alliance on Mental Illness is an organization of people with severe mental illnesses and their families. Organized in 1979, NAMI has over 210,000 members in more than 1,000 affiliate groups across the country providing support, education, and advocacy to improve the lives of persons with schizophrenia, manic-depression, clinical depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, panic disorder, severe childhood disorders, and other serious mental illnesses.
