Maureen Bennett, Marketing and Media Relations Specialist

An accomplished, award-winning communicator, Maureen Bennett's expertise includes public relations, media relations, marketing, communication, writing, and editing. She is Editor-in-Chief of Summit Medical Group's three newsletters, including Thrive, our monthly electronic patient health brief, The Group Observer, our internal newsletter, and Healthy Connections, our flagship publication.

Ms. Bennett has advanced the growth of media relations at SMG, earning national print and Web placements for the Group, including Glamour, Essence, RealSimple, WebMD, Everyday Health, and AOL Health. Regional print and Web placements include New Jersey Life, NJ Monthly, New Jersey Business, and nj.com.

Before joining Summit Medical Group, Ms. Bennett was a publicist, event coordinator, and publications editor for Marymount College in Tarrytown, New York. She also has been a public relations coordinator for the performing arts at Rowan University in Glassboro, New Jersey, and an independent public relations consultant specializing in higher education. She has been an adjunct faculty member in communication and public speaking at Rowan University and Kean University in Union, New Jersey.

As part of the Marketing and Public Relations team at Summit Medical Group, Ms. Bennett has earned more than 18 marketing honors and awards, the most recent of which are the Hermes Platinum Award for her communication campaign in preventive medicine and the Hermes Platinum Award for the Summit Medical Group Patient Guide to Staying Well. To her credit, Ms. Bennett is a volunteer member of the Arthritis Foundation of New Jersey’s Marketing Talent Pool.

Ms. Bennett earned her BA in English literature at Marymount College and her MA in public relations at Rowan University.
