Nephrology is the diagnosis and treatment of kidney disease and hypertension. Some conditions that can cause kidney failure include hypertension, diabetes, polycystic kidney disease and glomerulonephritis. We diagnose and treat a variety of direct and indirect conditions of the kidney, including:
- Acute and chronic renal failure
- Blood or protein in the urine
- Chronic kidney disease
- Kidney function that declines over time
- Electrolyte imbalances
- Kidney stones
- Hypertension (high-blood pressure)
Treatment options used at Summit Medical Group include hemodyalsis, peritoneal dialysis and when necessary, kidney transplant.
