Our expert team of pediatric doctors, physician assistants (PAs), and medical staff offer physical examinations and vaccinations as well as social, developmental, and behavioral assessments for consistent children’s health care.

Summit Medical Group understands that protecting your children’s health can sometimes mean attending to their needs around the clock. For this reason, we offer a 24-hour nurse triage service to help you decide if your child’s health problem is serious enough for the immediate attention of pediatric doctors. After hours and depending on your child’s symptoms, we may refer you for an appointment with our Pediatrics After Hours service.

• Hands-on evaluation of mother and infant connection
• Infant examination
• Education and recommendations for maternal lactation concerns

Important Vaccination Information

If your child has an allergy to eggs, he or she still might be eligible for vaccinations. Learn more about a special program to provide vaccinations to some children who have an allergy to eggs.

Medical Approval for School, Daycare, Camp, and Other Activities

If your child has had a physical examination from a Summit Medical Group pediatric doctor during the last 12 months, we can complete your child’s medical forms without an office visit and for a minimal fee. Please contact your child’s pediatrician for more information.

Summit Medical Group Pediatric Immunization Mission

Our pediatricians are pleased to offer the full complement of infant, childhood, and adolescent vaccines to protect your children’s health.

Before vaccines are licensed and distributed, scientific committees and expert clinicians extensively test them to ensure their safety and effectiveness and determine when they should be given to patients. In addition, there is thorough follow-up for vaccines after they have been distributed and administered. This follow-up allows experts to further track and confirm safety and effectiveness of the vaccines.

Research shows that it is safer to vaccinate your child than risk infection and other complications from harmful and sometimes fatal diseases such as whooping cough, measles, and polio. In addition, children who are vaccinated help reduce the spread of infection to other people.

All medications, including vaccines, are associated with risks and benefits. For example, vaccines can sometimes cause side effects such as fever and tenderness at the injection site. Although the side effects might alarm some parents and caregivers, they do not cause permanent harm and usually resolve within 24 hours. Serious side effects such as allergic reactions can occur, but they are very rare.

The pediatric doctors at Summit Medical Group Pediatrics adhere to American Academy of Pediatrics guidelines on immunizations. Their goal is to complete your child’s primary vaccine series by the time he or she is age 2 years. Then they work to ensure that all subsequent vaccinations are given on time. Our Pediatric Quality Improvement Immunization Program allows us to easily track your child’s vaccinations and remind you when it is time for your child’s vaccine or booster.
