As Chief of Operations, Karen Graham oversees the strategy, direction and management of teams in administrative functions, clinical services, operations and security, and information technology. Since joining Summit Medical Group (SMG) in 2009, she has worked to improve access, capacity, capacity utilization and productivity while significantly growing SMG’s provider base. Ms. Graham led the operationalizing of a fully integrated electronic health record at SMG, and she led the Group’s recent geographic expansion through new construction, including new medical complexes in Warren, Westfield, Morristown, Livingston and Florham Park, New Jersey.
A seasoned healthcare executive, Ms. Graham possesses extensive experience in operational, administrative, financial, clinical and information technology management. Prior to joining Summit Medical Group, Ms. Graham served as Vice President and Chief Information Officer at Cooper University Hospital, where she was responsible for all Information Technology, and the direction of executive management teams in achieving workflow optimization of all administrative, clinical and financial systems. Ms. Graham also served in the U.S. Navy as a Naval Aircrewman and Aviation Electrician’s Mates (AE).
Ms. Graham holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and a Master’s Degree in Organizational Dynamics and Leadership from the University of Pennsylvania. She has also completed an Executive Management Development Program at the Wharton School and Strategic Leadership Program at the Leonard N. Stern School of Business, New York University.
