Douglas Y. Seiden, PhD, specializes in cognitive behavioral therapy for anxiety, depression, dysthymia, generalized anxiety, panic disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), phobias, insomnia, pain, trichotillomania, and repetitive movement disorders.
Before joining Summit Medical Group, Dr. Seiden was a clinical psychologist with the Cognitive Behavior Therapy Institute in New York and New Jersey. He is Former Program Director of the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) Center for Community Health New York Family Studies Unit and has taught and been a clinical supervisor for the California School of Professional Psychology. He has represented the International Union of Psychological Science at the United Nations, and has practiced at New York Presbyterian Hospital, North Shore University Hospital, and Coney Island Hospital.
Dr. Seiden says, "I use cognitive behavioral techniques to help prevent and treat psychological challenges and enhance positive experiences."
Dr. Seiden is the author and coauthor of articles that are published in prestigious, peer-reviewed scientific journals, including Journal of Behavior Therapy and Experimental Psychiatry, Cognitive and Behavioral Practice, International Journal of Psychology, and The Journal of Transpersonal Psychology.
When he is not working with his patients, Dr. Seiden enjoys spending time with his family and friends, reading, playing music, and traveling.
