Personal Notes:

Erika Pietzsch, LPC, NCC is a licensed professional counselor in Summit Medical Group's Behavioral Health and Cognitive Therapy Center. Ms. Pietzsch (pronounced “peach”) has experience treating adult patients suffering from depression, generalized anxiety, bipolar disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), phobias, social anxiety, and adjustment disorders.  She believes that a collaborative patient-provider approach is necessary to achieving a successful outcome. “As a counselor, my job is to make patients feel comfortable and welcome, so they are able to move forward in treatment and make effective changes to improve their well-being,” says Ms. Pietzsch.

Prior to joining SMG, she worked as a Senior Primary Therapist as part of an Adult Psychology program where she provided group and individual therapy to adults dealing with a variety of behavioral health disorders.

Ms. Pietzsch enjoys working with first responders (police officers, fire fighters, EMT), corrections officers, and those in the military. She holds a degree in forensic psychology which provided her with extensive training in understanding the psychologic difficulties this specific population deals with daily. She has some additional training in dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), a type of cognitive behavioral therapy that works to identify and change negative thought patterns. Ms. Pietzsch is a member of the American Counseling Association.

When not seeing patients, she loves spending time with her family, traveling, and watching movies. She also enjoys watching football and participating in fantasy football leagues.
