Joelle DeNotaris, LCSW is a member of Summit Medical Group's Behavioral Health and Cognitive Therapy team. Ms. DeNotaris treats patients of all ages who are suffering from a variety of behavioral health issues, including anxiety, depression, behavioral and adjustment disorders, developmental issues, post-traumatic stress disorder, low self-esteem, and family conflict. She also offers social skills training and provides support for her patients’ caregivers and loved ones. As a therapist, her goal is to help individuals learn how to evaluate their thinking in a more logical and flexible way so they can experience improvement in their emotional state, which in turn can improve their behavior.
“I was heavily influenced by my family of helping professionals to pursue a career where I could nurture others,” says Ms. DeNotaris. “While pursuing my master’s degree, I had an opportunity to work with both adult and child survivors of trauma, as well as individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, and post-traumatic stress disorder, which only furthered my passion to address the emotional and spiritual wellness of my community.”
Before joining Summit Medical Group, Ms. DeNotaris worked as a school social worker for several years counseling and case managing children and working with families to develop appropriate plans for their children. She has obtained a Violence Against Women and Children Certificate as well as a School Social Worker Certificate.
Outside of the office, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, hiking, reading, walking her dog, traveling, watching movies, going to concerts, and attending sporting events.
