About Me
Jennifer A. Llewellyn, RD, CDE is a member of Summit Medical Group's Nutrition Services department. Ms. Llewellyn is a certified diabetes educator and has expertise in adult weight management, prediabetes, diabetes and the management and prevention of related complications. She also has experience with general nutrition in relation to many chronic disease states.
Ms. Llewellyn refers to evidence-based medical and nutrition advice when working with her patients. She recognizes the many factors that contribute to a person’s nutritional health and believes sometimes big solutions can come from very small, specific changes in a person’s routine. Based on that understanding, Ms. Llewellyn takes a whole person approach to care, examining each patient’s day to day routines including their food choices, food preferences, social stressors, and any physical limitations that may exist.
Ms. Llewellyn joins Summit Medical Group from St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center in Paterson, where she worked for the past 12 years. She also has prior medical experience in settings including Montville Family Practice in Montville, NJ, and Chilton Diabetes Outpatient Center in Pompton Plains. Ms. Llewellyn is a member of the American Association of Diabetes Educators.
When she is not working with patients, Ms. Llewellyn loves to travel and spend time enjoying outdoor activities including hiking and bike riding at the beach. She is a clean environment and animal welfare advocate as well as a dog lover.
