About Me
Richard S. Nitzberg, MD, specializes in general and vascular surgery, hernia surgery, gall bladder surgery, excision of masses, and laparoscopic surgery. During his more than 25 years of practice, he has performed more than 2,500 hernia surgeries and 2,500 laparoscopic gallbladder surgeries.
Dr. Nitzberg also runs the Summit Medical Group Vein Center, which provides treatment for spider and varicose veins with leading-edge laser treatment. In addition, he is Chief of General Surgery and Vice Chief of Vascular Surgery at Overlook Medical Center in Summit, New Jersey.
He has been featured in the Castle Connolly "Top Doctors in the New York Metro Area," Castle Connolly "America's Top Doctors," and New Jersey Monthly "Top Doctors" listings. Dr. Nitzberg's Castle Connolly listings have been reprinted in US News and World Report and Inside Jersey.
