About Me
Subroto Paul, MD, MPH is a board certified, specialty trained general thoracic surgeon and is a member of Summit Medical Group's General Surgery team. Dr. Paul specializes in the surgical treatment of lung cancer and other thoracic malignancies. As a surgeon who embraces the multi-disciplinary approach to cancer care, Dr. Paul strives to carefully explain all diagnostic and therapeutic options available, which enables his patients to get involved in their own care. He works collaboratively with members of Summit Medical Group’s oncology team including medical oncologists, pulmonologists, radiologists, pathologists, and radiation oncologists to ensure his patients receive the best, most advanced care possible.
Additionally, Dr. Paul specializes in the minimally invasive treatment of both malignant and benign thoracic disorders including robotic approaches to lung and esophageal cancer and currently serves as Director of Thoracic Surgical Services for the RWJ Barnabas Health System.
Previously, Dr. Paul served as Associate Professor of Cardiothoracic Surgery and was an Attending Surgeon in the Division of Thoracic Surgery at the New York Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center. He also held a secondary appointment in the Department of Health Policy and Research. Dr. Paul is rated as one of New York Magazine’s Best Doctors. He has published more than 100 peer-reviewed articles in thoracic surgery and is a member of numerous societies.
