About Me
Sweeti Mehra, MD, specializes in internal medicine. Dr. Mehra focuses on educating patients about disease prevention and the importance of screening.
Before joining Summit Medical Group, Dr. Mehra was Director of the Primary Care / Internal Medicine Clinic and Associate Attending Physician in the Department of Medicine at Mount Sinai St. Luke's Roosevelt Hospitals Center in New York City. Dr. Mehra has been a champion of patient-centered medical home (PCMH) initiatives in her previous practice. She has helped create team-based care for patients with chronic illnesses such as diabetes, high blood pressure, and elevated lipids.
Dr. Mehra believes it is important to educate her patients and share knowledge with doctors in training. She has been a faculty member at Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons and Mount Sinai Icahn School of Medicine, both in New York City. As Director of Ambulatory Education for Internal Medicine and Director of Columbia University Third-year Medical Student Rotations Program at Mount Sinai Roosevelt Hospital Center, Dr. Mehra helped create primary care-focused curricula for residents and medical students.
When she is not working with her patients, Dr. Mehra enjoys playing piano, painting, sketching, cooking, photography, and traveling.
